Get a screwdriver, while the engine is running place the screw driver on an injector, put your ear against the other end. You'll be able to hear the injector through the screwdriver. If any of the injectors sound louder than the others you might have a dodgy injector! My engine sounds a bit 'ticky' anyway, removing the carbon canister did help get rid of some of the noise.
