I was quoted £49 for a 4 wheel alignment at the dealers, might be worth asking?

Bargain they wanted a £100 off me I refused.

That's a big difference in cost.  I'm considering getting my wheels aligned, potholes round here are abysmal and pretty sure they've taken their toll on the wheels over the winter.  Wonder what price my local dealer will pluck out of the air, and what exactly are you getting for the money?
my last gti went in for service and I got a call saying one tyre had a bulge in the sidewall that was through potholes the worrying thought is I new when I did it but didn't check the tyres so if you have whacked one check them tyres

Let's just say it wasn't me that drove it through one of the city's worst potholes last week
The roads are so riddled with them, you literally have to zigzag down the road to avoid them
Car feels like it's very slightly pulling to one side so will get it checked.

You say Canterbury's roads are bad... Have you tried the back streets of Herne Bay??? Unbelievably bad! if we actually lived there I don't think we could live with the relatively hard suspension of the Gti/d.... Mind you.... Would have probably sourced one with ACC to begin with!
Sorry... bit off topic........... I'll get me coat.....
Mk VI Black Pearl GTD.... No Frills, replaced a Black Pearl PD150 Bora, which in turn replaced a Dragon Green VR6 which followed a Dusty Mauve MK III 8v Gti.

i think at the mo most of the roads in the uk are in a poor state of repair perhaps the manufacturers could design a pothole detector instead of adaptive cruise control maybe an optional extra I hope it warms up so I don't need me coat

Quick update- Diagnosis after visit to dealers is tyre wear. They won't do anything under warranty for it but on the upside are going to replace my centre caps and clutch!!!

For the sake of not confusing threads i will reply to another one I came across
