What's the difference between the mark 7gti engine compared to the mark 6 engine

gryznor I know it is more powerful has more torque is it a completely different unit like the ed35 is compared to the normal mark 6?

Haha, in that case I don't really know.  I've read that it's an evolution of the same, but in what capacity I have no idea.  I think it's lighter, but really, besides the car as a whole package, all I bother about are the performance numbers and economy!

If its the same EA888 as before, I just hope they fixed the "timing chain tensioner" problem that plagued the Mark 6!!!! I don't really want to go through all that shenanigans again!!
