It's her legacy which is poisonous, which is why it needs discussing, to help people understand why we're still on a dangerous trajectory.

This comment sums up the conservatives.
The conservatives are interested in helping big business, they do not care about ordinary people.
If you are sick, old, poor, out of work, or just out of luck, then they will let you rot.
Most the people that vote them in are the same, they don't care about anyone but themselves.
Thatcher started the rush for greed in the 80's, some people think that's great.
I laugh when i read comments about labour and the economy, i remember how bad things got in the early 90's, my parents nearly lost their house, interest rates hit 15%, absolutely crazy. Getting a job was very very difficult in the early 90's, i spent 2 years only able to get temporary work, a week here, a week there. This cycle is being repeated today.
I won't celebrate anyone dying, but Thomas sums it up, a PM who was just plain poisonous.

You should care because, as outlined by the current PM today, she drew lines on a political map which are still being followed today.

That's not a good thing.

Let's talk about quantitative easing, which is currently screwing things up.

Let's talk about 'free market economy' which is still syphoning wealth out of the country.

Let's talk about Conservative councils who are still selling off our publicly owned assets on her model.

I could go on, but apparently you're thick and won't read things, so educating you would be a job too tough for me.

It's her legacy which is poisonous, which is why it needs discussing, to help people understand why we're still on a dangerous trajectory.

Still not interested. No government will fix anything therefore not interested.

Get work, pay tax and that's where it ends for me I'm afraid.

Where all my moneys went.

Ah! Apathy! Installed by Labour after Tony Blair won the top job, If you believe in hard graft Josh, and steering well clear of claiming benefits wherever possible, and thinking its OK for the Labour to borrow even more money, that is impossible to pay back, you may well of just played straight into Labours hands... Please, have an opinion one way or the other!

Not a clue, all I know is I'll never make a change. One day I'll attempt to show some interest, way too busy to even think about it ATM.

All I think is 20% earnings straight into a deposit account and keep up with VAT.

Where all my moneys went.

My thoughts are this:

ALL politicians are liars. Show me one that claims they don't lie and I will show you a liar.

Some are just better at it than others. I haven't trusted any politician I have met nor do I trust those I have seen on the tv trying to talk in "soundbyte speak" so they appear to appeal to everyone. Cameron, Milliband, Clegg - they're all awful.

Whichever one appears to have the more appealing policies at the time is the one that gets my vote. It's not about left or right parties anymore - it's who can occupy the most of the middle ground and can slime their way past the cameras...  :lipsrsealed:

I tried that at the last election, based my vote on my favoured policies. Within 6 months uni fees went UP to £9k, Building schools for the future was scrapped and a big increase in rail fair saw three key parts of the lib dem manifesto turn out to be complete and utter lies.

So...

ALL politicians are liars. Show me one that claims they don't lie and I will show you a liar.

Let's simplify that.  ALL people are liars.  If you believe there is one person out there who tells the truth the whole time then you're fooling yourself.  People and politicians should pledge to do their best, because that's all you can do.

I tried that at the last election, based my vote on my favoured policies. Within 6 months uni fees went UP to £9k, Building schools for the future was scrapped and a big increase in rail fair saw three key parts of the lib dem manifesto turn out to be complete and utter lies.

And there is the problem any incoming government/council faces, if there is a change of administration: you never know what's 'in the bottom draw' until you walk in the office.  As with the outgoing Labour government - the outgoing Treasury Secretary left a note saying  'I'm afraid to tell you there's no money left.'.  How do you keep to manifesto promises on that basis?  You can't.  Better to say you'll do your best with what's available and you'll deliver the people a strategy once you've walked in and seen the mess left from previously.

What really gets me is we have heard absolutely nothing about her for 10 years or more.
Now she is dead its Thatcher this, Thatcter that!
One thing I didnt know was that her son Mark Thatcher is a Sir! Shows you, you have to be a crook to get a title!
MT has been living in the Ritz Hotel for the last 3 or 4 years. I bulk at paying 40 odd quid to go and have an afternoon tea there! ( I probably will treat the wife one day). But that just shows you what a different world she lived in.

I also remember interest rates of 15% not just in the 90's. That started in the 80's and was certaintly at that level in 1985 when I worked for a House builder.

I care what affect it has, just couldn't care less about past. All I care about to be quite honest is present and future.
