I see a lot of you are running the Revo maps on your Gti's, are any of you experiencing clutch slip?

I had my map done in Jan and love the power increase, transformed the car, now on the odd occasion or sometimes all the time I get clutch slip. Weird how some days it's ok with the same driving style and others its not. The brake fluid res is not going down as I first thought it may be a leaking slave cylinder. Rang VW to see what the warranty was and they only cover clutches up to 12k, plus they know its mapped. They say it would just do the same again if they replaced it. Mine is a manual box, not DSG.

Was thinking of having to put a Sachs clutch in on the standard flywheel, are these ok?

Would love to know any experience's you may have had.

Running stage 2 Revo software and clutch started slipping in 4th/5th/6th within a few days of it being done.

Having a Helix Organic clutch kit fitted, but hear the Sachs are also a good option. Hoping not to need a new DMF as our car has only done 15k miles from new.

Wasting your I'm with another oem clutch, they just aren't up to he job of angling the big torque numbers the Revo map gives.

what mileage has your GTI done, my tsi rocco had a clutch after 30k, my wife's mk5 has just started slipping at 67k

if you have SPS and a laptop you can either run on 95 setting or reduce the boost, which is what i have done on today on the mk5, if you try the car in stock mode it will not probably slip

i've ran a sachs clutch on the rocco and going Helix with nee dmf on the mk5 in a few weeks time

Yeah mine must of slipped to on the rollers when map was done as we throughout it was wheel slip on the rollers. Then after a few days with cold weather I throughout it was wheel spin but it must be clutch slip.
You having it fitted soon? If you don't mind me asking, how much is the parts? Do you get the pressure plate, drive plate and release bearing with that? Which do you think is the better option out the two?
Won't bother with standard clutch again, it made 279 bhp on rollers so think it won't hold

It's done 13k now. Had map on for 2k. It did not slip before the map. Don't really want to reduce the boost etc if I've paid the money for the map.
Does the Sachs clutch make the pedal much harder to use? Was it noticeable ?

It's the torque not the power that causes the slip, Sachs is heavier than oem i got used to it and did a fair amount of stop start in it

Riding the torque causes the problems, I now drop down a gear and use the pier rather than torque

My clutch started slipping quite badly and it was down to a leaky slave. The brake fluid didn't go down, even after a few weeks of it.

How much torque you guys putting out? 

Ok mine's a TDI but I've done over 30,000 miles running over 300lbs ft torque and the clutch has done 63K in total

By the sounds of it the map is VERY spikey and thus killing the clutch or some of you are nailing it from low down in a high gear............

I'm thinking about having having my ED35 mapped and was going to plump for a revo map, until I saw the spikes and troughs compared with one other specifically.

Nailing low down in high gear is the killer on the tsi especially as the turbo kicks in lower down the rev range than the K04

wife's K04 car has done 60k mapped and she is notorious or nailing it low down
