help with fitting bonnet bra
« on: 07 April 2013, 10:14 »
hi all,

i have fitted some black indicators today and a bonnet bra but the bonnet wont shut with it on :-( i dont know what to do!
ive tried sitting on it but it just wont click down, obviously the bonnet bra is keeping it up its really frustrating.
any ideas on how i can give the catch a little bit of slack to make it fit?

It's pretty obvious that the bonnet bra needs to come off so you can close the bonnet. So just take it off and throw it away  :lipsrsealed:

Try to move it about so it fits better. Also the catch is slotted so if you loosen the bolts you should be able to lift it up, then do the bolts back up.

Open the bonnet and there is too rubber stoppers on the slam panel both sides, check if the bra is getting between the stopper and the bonnet ,if so wind them down a bit ,it may just be this.

The question is why would you want a bonnet bra?  It looks disgusting besides the fact it will not let the

paintwork breathe

My car has been sprayed, I've got no bonnet bra, and no stone chips on bonnet. But I have on my bumper. If your car is low, I'd say worry about the front bumper.

Personally I find leaving a good safe size gap from the car infront will stop stone chips.
