Head unit in my mk6 a few questions and advice

Have you got the Bluetooth Menu in the DIS?

Is DIS on the dash?

If so no I haven't.

When I turn bluetooth on my phone and search it doesn't find anything

Is DIS on the dash?

Yes. When you use the < > buttons on the right hand side of the steering wheel to go through the various menus, Bluetooth appears on the dash display. It goes something like, Trip computer - Audio - Vehicle Setup - Bluetooth - Navigation, depending on what is installed.

As I said before, if it's not coming up there, the car hasn't been told it's fitted, therefore it needs coding.

Ok thanks again, hopefully thatis all it needs, do you think the same will apply to the reverse camera, ie new stereo needs coding?

Sadly not mate. You need to activate the module and tell the car everything is fitted 

Check out the VAGCOM user location map for someone who can help for a beer token or two
