replacing front end components

Hi folks.
I think I know where I'm up to with the latest vw,
And getting close to the final push for a drop dead gorgous custom sled,

Thought I'd query next move on here for anyonnes personal opinions,

So, I'm going to replace a lot of front end parts to try and get the car, (1.9 tdi estate on an S) driving like new before we wind the new coilies right down, and fit the new wheels, front bumper and modded tailgate.

Iv got boxed up new, discs/hubs, bearings, pads, tyres, and coilovers from wietech
Planning on replacing for GSF parts, top mounts, the track rod ends, ball joints, and maybe wishbones,and probly an ARB
Would anyone suggest any other goodies to make the car feel really sweet?

Im not to sure why your trying to improve the handling alot if it was a track car i would understand but a tdi estate i understand buy just renewing the drive line components

Coz its done over 200k, and its a family daily that will get taken to shows, and on top of that will be ultraslammed and has to handle sweetly. Its tidy, and will look fecking awesome by june, so may aswell give her a tickle undernieth aswell as on top.

Just replace the componants with a good make. Also you could try the subframe mounts.

Ultraslammed and handling don't go together. Either one or the other. Too low and your wishbones aren't pointing in the right direction. Too low and you won't be able to go fast round corners because it'll either ground out or rub. Too low and the dampers won't be happy with how they're having to work. You can slam it, and I'm sure it'll handle better than 15+ year old shocks, but it won't be anywhere near a well setup car.

Really? I think you need to learn about how cars work and how modifications affect them before giving advice. A strut brace won't help against body roll. That's what anti roll bars are for.

If you want to improve the handling then read up on setting up a car for handling, and get polybushes, thicker anti roll bars, decent coilovers and good tyres on all corners. But it's an estate so it'll never be amazing, and it's an old diesel engine too, so it'll never be time machine.

If you want to make it look good and slam it, and improve the handling as best as you can then replace any worn bushes with OEM parts, roll the arches and be prepared to crawl over uneven roads.

Im glad you put this as i was about to... i think he meant body FLEX and unless your driving like a lunatic around a track it doesnt make that much difference anyway..  it always irritates me when i see normal road cars with strut bracing!!! whats the effin point </winge>

Body roll is the slack taken up in the suspension as the body "rolls" slightly when cornering, stiffer suspension, lighter body and anti roll bars all counteract this.
