smelly when raining!!!

is response to my previous post, my gti dosen't smell too bad now, however if it rains the smell comes back very strong, as i say, like sweet pissy flowers, anybody any ideas? please!!!

what you do is... open the bath taps. jump in and the smell should go away

sure the coolant isnt leaking inside the car from the matrix. that can stink

is the carpet wet? could be the sound proofing that smells if water enters the car

check the plastic scuttle trays and the bonnet tray

Lift up the plastic scuttle trays and have a good look under there, sounds like summat is rotting away in it.  It'll make it into the cabin cos thats where the fresh air intake is.  Also check the seal round the base of the fan and have a look inside it might be full of leaves!

One last thing check the rubber seal is present along the metal lip at the front of the plastic scuttle, this seals the bay from engine smells

  ta lads, but the heater matrix is fine,the carpets arn't wet,all the seals are in tack,and the trough is clear, but thanks lads!! any more takers?? please

have a look at the state of the windscreen washer pipes. Screen wash can stink

Good point! The screenwash in my girlfirends AX smelt like vomit

soundproofing smells alot like piss when its wet, if it has got wet then i suspect it will never dry

ta lads, the only thing is, the smell goes when i either put the air con on, or set the air to recirculate, any more ideas, by the way the washer fluid that the dealer put in smells like fairy liquid!!
