are you planning do an oil change? or just top up? do you no what oil was previously used?
10-40 fully synth
5-40 fully synth
5-30 fully synth
stick with the vw recommended stuff and don't mix different w oil

Tappy when cold?? Or all the time.
As for oil 10-40 or 5-40 should do itm some people use thinner 5-30. Depends what your service intervals are too really. I use change oil in the gti every 8k and i used 10-40 oil from dealers.
