can i check for clogged cat by removing lambda sensor?

ok if i remove the lambda sensor and my rough idle disappears will this tell me that i need a new cat?

just wondering if this test can spot a bad cat  .

Nope sensor is before the cat.

U need to road test it tbh if the car is struggling to pick up rpms then it could be blocked cat try bang the cat with ur hand not when hot if it rattles then its collapsed try put ur hand near the tail pipe to feel the pressure its hard to diagnose a cat as its car performance side of things coupd possibly be another fault

ok if the cat is blocked then there is backpressure building up before the cat. if i relieve that pressure just a little bit by removing the sensor it should relieve some of the backpressure if there is any and it should run better. does this make sense?

And then the car will run sh!t because it can't get a reading!

Only way to tell is take it off and look.
