Drivers side electric window....Possessed!
« on: 29 March 2013, 20:13 »
This is a strange one!

My drivers window goes down a tiny bit then a tiny bit more then a tiny bit more.....Then when you press for it to go up it goes straight down??!!  It gets halfway up ok then goes very slowly to the top.

Any ideas on this one?

I have had this problems with my driver side electric window reseting the window control module will not do anything it could be 2 issues the electric window motor itself is not providing enough torque to lift the window at the tightest point which is near the top try to spray silicone spray on the window rubbers if this fixes the issue for a little while your motor has become weak. (When u take apart the regulator the motor uses a plastic wheel with a rubber bush which has holes cut out in them i have notice over time the holes become oval ruducing the affectivness of the motor)If your motor is not providing enough torque your control module will think someone has there fingers in the way and will instantly lower the window. Now if its the control module it could be thinking someone hands are in the way at the certain point I have tested this on my electric windows with no glass in it which was producing the same problem no weight i thought so it should be easier to lift but no it still kept coming down (which could mean control module) What i done was just buy a new window mechanism with new motor either buy a scrappie not guarantee to last i bought a new one from ebay £100. From parts dealers to general public your looking at £200 dont forget yours is comfort function thats why its expensive im using the ebay one no problems so far been installed for over 3 months now

You need to loosen the bolts holding the window in (loose enough to make the winodw gently. While holdong the window close the window and fully open it then close it bring it back down and tighten the bolts. Then try again. This should have solved your problem. Also id grease up the mech wires.

Hope this helps as i was having same issue
