Speak to a private claims specialist and go see a doctor otherwise expect £400.
Exactly what I got for my early Mk2 with 2k worth of reciepts
Always run a Mk2 on an agreed value policy if its any good

The main thing here, is that you got out OK... i assume?  I suspect you would have had heavy bruising at the least!
The car is a GTI and not a lesser model I take it, If so, then push the point that Mk2 GTI are very much sought after, and command a higher asking price, than any lesser model. Do some homework, and get yourself some prices together of similar cars, and have in your own mind, what you think would be a fair price to replace the damaged car with something similar... I wouldn't say anything till they make you an offer! and under no circumstances release the car to the Insurance, without sorting a price!

hi there , yes the golf was a gti , recaro interior elec mirrors , windows , lots off other goodies too , the car was in storage for nearly 2 months , as i think the insurance company forgot about it , they said it wouldnt be assesed there and that they MUST take it to a free storage place , so as far as im aware it got collected yesterday :(
and yeah im not too bad in the way of injuries , i will upload some more pics , although they really dont do it justice to how bad the car is
thanks again tony

If the car is still at the premises, you must insist on it staying there, until its been inspected, and a price agreed! otherwise they will screw you over!

Feck... Thats a right mess... :o

Good to hear you are ok... Thats the main point..

I would be pointing out that any "NICE" MK2 GTI that was "fully loaded" like yours is worth at least £3K in the current market.

But like Thom says do your home work and provide proof with ebay, PH & Autotrader - sales, listing's etc

Unfortunate :( but start gathering ads up like said and fight for the real value, not the insurance book value.

I have just had a payout on mine valued at 4k with receipts pictures
I had to settle for £550 in the end only needed back bumper and rear light and a bit of paint
£600 would of wrote it off which I did not want as the shell was not damaged

Waste of time getting a value on mine I could of got engineers reports but I had to payout for it
Accident was not my fault
Least your ok mate
