g60 to abf?
« on: 28 March 2013, 21:46 »
right first off please only comment if you know what you are doing. cheers.

i have a g60 at the mo, and my car is a daily driver, it runs ok but i dont trust the g60 and i cant afford to be replacing a charger when it goes pop.

i also have all the bits from a mk3 abf. engine had 90k on it, we removed it from the car.

i have the key and the looms and ecu, the engine, box and all the trimmings.

now my car already has 280mm brakes, hydro clutch and mk3 clocks. it has a aftermarket rad & fan and oil cooler.

i believe the original g60 came from a rado as it has a f**king stupid short gearlever and is on digi management.

what im asking is what hiccups could i come across converting this? im assuming the fusebox is the same as a mk2 90 spec cause the hazard switch is on the collum.

will the tank be ok? do i need to use the abf fuse box?

the only reason im asking is i need to cover all the bases as i need to do maybe in a weekend, as i need the car on the road.

also why is the abf ecu a siemens unit and the mk2 a bosch?

ive done searches and seen toyotechs guide but as im not starting off with a standard mk2 im a bit in the dark.

You can leave the current pumps in place - they're right for it.

ABF wiring should plug straight in to the CE2 fusebox to replace the G60 wiring.

The management is Digi I on the G60 IIRC and Digi 3.2.  Who makes the ECU is immaterial.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

I'm currently wiring mine up I have ditched the vr lump going to abf
I might hit trouble as I cut 4 wires to get the vr loom out not sure what they are for illustrative assume
It's to light the clocks up

But seems like it all plugs straight in
