My AGG was cammed on my old anni, it was lumpy as hell at idle but it used to noticeably pick up acceleration from 3k nice and smooth. Dont ask me what cam it was though.

Gonna get the Neuspeed 268. It has a 113° lobe center which according to the camshaft thread on here will provide a smooth idle and no loss of low RPM power.

I've lost about 2mpg but I do put my foot down more because it has power lol

I got the 286 it has a lumpy idle but runs fine low rpm.

I lost a lot more mpg, if I thrash it to my folks house I do a fiver which is literally a pound per mile.
I am considering selling it on with the other two Mk3's i have at the mo, might make me an extra £100

Do you need a chipped ecu to upgrade the cam or is it just a straight swap...?

Don't need a chipped ECU but sure it would help with some of the more aggressive cams. Just got a refund on my Neuspeed 268 because they"re now out of production, typical!

Went for a Newman Schrick-copy 268 in the end, this is my daily driver and spend a lot of time in traffic so didn't want something too lairy, should kick in about 2500 rpm.
