mine sounded like a diesel when warm    heard it was something to do with the hpfp

if its under warranty see what that cover it might even be worth getting it inspected by vw

this knocking is doing my head in now can't seem to get to bottom off it it disappear when you put your throttle down

If your engine is the AXX engine code, then it could be cam chain.

Notorious for being nosey. As said, the moisture in the oil will go with a decent run down the motorway.i would recommend an oil and filter change as by the sounds of it , it needs a fresh refill.

Pop down the dealer and get them to double check it. Oil change will also quieten up the engine a little too.

a up barry yeah just when on idle when warm when cold cant hear it sounds sweet as a nut in fact it sounds very nice but as soon as it reaches temp it gets load but disapears when you bleep throttle

mine done this too mate  still drove ok was told they all sound like this but done near 2k before i sold it an my mate still drives it hard everyday

this was just going to be my next question will it be ok to still drive it runs and drives perfect bar the knocking i think it is cam chain on it going to try and get it done under warranty if possible love the car so smooth and beautiful
