Rpm at 70mph too high??
« on: 25 March 2013, 10:51 »
Hi,
Was just thinking my GTi is quite thirsty, I first thought it was because I'm used my mk5 diesel comsumption! Then I was thinking how high the rpm was on the way back from lymington yesterday, in 5th it was around 3000-3400rpm, which obviously quite noisy in the car, is this normal? 5th is meant to be a cruise gear I thought, also when I release the accelerator, it drops speed quickly, wouldn't say the brakes are binding, as I've have it jacked up and they spin freely...any ideas?

Thanks
