how easy is it to get the studs out as i did similar on my turbo
vw golf mk4 ARZ 1.8T pipercross panel filter, xenon headlights, JOMS coilovers, forge 007p with green spring, audi tt anti roll bar, 3inch ebay trubo back exhaust, COOKIES MONSTER STICKER(adds bhp I swear)

If you've got some left poking out and you can get some heat on the exhaust housing (oxyacetalene is best) and a decent set of stillsons they should come out. Taking the turbo out makes it easier but it can be done in situ, just watch out for pipes etc. There's not a great deal of space so a steady hand is needed. I don't have any gas so it was easier to bring it to work

ive done the same attempting to fitting a decat pipe yesterday snapped two studs, got them out but the thread is damaged.

had to drop it in a garage today and cancel the trip to r-tech tomorrow  :angry:

Yeah will be helicoiling it

God knows what had been used to previously tighten them up and downpipe didn't seem like it had been aligned correctly before tightening - all holes was off to the left by 4-5mm.

Should of been an easy half hr job a decat pipe  :grin:

I snapped one gettin mine off but there was enough to get a stud removal to on it

Turbo is in with oil and water lines connected, TIP is in place. Would have got further but some idiot left the manifold at home... Oh and I had to finish off fitting my short shift lol

Managed to mangle one of the threads on the studs too, fixed with my die kit though
