Bloody alarm!!!
« on: 22 March 2013, 16:44 »
Hi guys!...it may be something really simple but i'm scratching my head here..
S-reg 1.8 20v....every time I start the car up the alarm goes off. Sometimes for just one round and sometimes maybe four (by which time i'm usually 2 miles down the road pretending it's not me!)
Looked in Haynes and glovebox booklet and done a little reading on here and am now stumped.
Only got one key by the way which is a banjo type 2 button remote.

My guess would be a faulty door module. Any issues with the central locking?

could be a door module, could be the ccm, could be a wiring issue, could be the siren itself or even a random battery issue. you can check the batttery terminals and fuses without tools easy enough.. but to learn any more than that you're going to need vagcom and a multimeter.
