So yesterday took the golf to the VW specialist in Wokingham (autotechnic) to get this noise looked at. After putting it up on the ramps he found out the LHS drive shaft had cracked and therefore had no grease so he reckons this is most probably the cause for the weird wiring noise! He also said me front bushes were knackerd so said he would do those! Anyway got a call in the afternoon expecting him to say all done come and collect but, much to my annoyance, he said who ever last changed them cross threaded the screws? And while trying to them off they snapped!! So now have to wait till Monday for a bracket from VW
all this coming in at just shy of £400 inc. labor. Good deal or should I have gone to stealers?
On the plus side my awesome mother is lending me her DS3 Dsport turbo for the weekend
have missed driving a manual!
