Clutch cable after replacing clutch
« on: 21 March 2013, 21:25 »
I replaced my clutch today (6.5 hours of crap!) took it for a drive and it all worked fine, but later on I drove it, and the clutch pedal suddenly traveled nearly all the way t the floor. Still able top change gear, but now it's parked on the drive it won't go in gear. I checked the clutch cable, and it feels like the automatic adjuster has broken, that part of the cable click up ad down.

The cable is only 6months old, does it sund like it needs a new cable, or have I fitted it incorrectly?

It's only the clutch cable that is the problem.

Replace the cable, but do not release the white clip until it is all fitted and connected.

if you didn't clip the cable back together (using the white plastic clips) then the cable will of gone through it's full adjustment and will never work properly again..

and t.b.h when swapping a clutch i would always advise a new cable as the adjusters can be crap!

The cable was only 6months old so it so did didn't need replacing. Also I did clip it back with the white clips, it worked fine first off all then it gave up. Went to gsf to get a new one today and they have given me the wrong on

Also I got in contact through eBay to the seller I got the first one from and they are sending me out a replacement one
