« on: 20 March 2013, 11:29 »
HI all

Fitted some MK4 R32 wheels to my golf TDi last night and noticed im getting a rotational drone from the wheels.

Its seems to be there more when im slowing down/breaking and accelerating to about 40 then seems to disappears.

Didn't notice this on the original 15"s

Are you lowered? If so the tyre will be scrubbing on the coilovers, 15's don't do it but 18's do. A 5mm spacer will resolve it.

Could be a dodgy tyre or buckled wheel.

Not lowered yet, checked and can't see that its rubbing anywhere.

Checked the wheels over when i got them they seemed pretty straight but as you say could be a slight buckle

They are running Wanli tyres which i have read are pretty shocking so perhaps i may get them changed as a first port of call.

Im hoping not the bearings as i didn't have the drone when the standards were on it.

They sound like crappy tyres from what ive read so i guess ill get them changed and see how i go from there, failing that then look at bearings.

Cheers guys.
