ETKA Help
« on: 20 March 2013, 10:48 »
not sure if this is in the right place but here goes. After no responses to my request for part numbers i went on a hunt and found etka 7.3 but i have encountered a couple of problems, first if i put in my chassis number it brings up all the diesel models and asks me to select one  i have a 1.8t petrol with an aum code  <---- this however takes me back to when i checked my MOT history and it had multiple corrections of people recording diesle and having to change it petrol which is a bit worrying  anyway im getting off topic here as for etka im having trouble locating the parts i want to get the numbers for so does anyone know the sales type code for a 2000 plate golf gti 1.8t aum?? or is there another way i can narrow down my parts choice without having to trawl through every single golf engine code?

Ive never used my chassis number. On mines it goes like this,

I click VW
scroll down the left hand side and click on Golf it will also say at this point what types like R32 4MO petrol dev and a give you a year like 98/04
A menu will pop up asking the year,  in my case 03
It will then take you to another screen with 6/8 options (can't remember) with pictures on the left for the likes of body, service parts, front drive train, rear drive train and so on.
So say I'm after a front wishbone bush, I hit front drive train and up pops another menu listing all the different set ups and on the far right it will say what car it's for. Look for the one you after and hit it.
A picture will now pop up showing you all the different parts that make up the front drive train.
Click on the number thats beside the bush and the part number and price will pop up
Hit the back arrow at the very top of the page to go back.

just choose brand in the beginning....

then model and year.... the main code of your car is in the VIN anyway.... just have a look at an online vin decoder to
