Rns510 version and software

Ok, got a 59 plate mk6 golf gti, i beleive the software on the rns maps is old, as i read people can now use postcode to serch their locations and etc on theirs, and mine does not have that!

How do i find out what rns i have? What software and how do i get updates for it??

im in the same boat. The secret menu is not working. This link it shows u the start up screen old version and new version. Going by that i have the old.

only sure fire way is to use vag.com to get your model of rns

Is vag com easy enough to work? Is it just one of those cables for a tenner off ebay and attach it to your laptop?

I can sell you guys one of the latest upgrade versions (3980 - which doesnt need coding) and the latest VW western Europe maps if you want them (V9 Maps)

Not really, the best thing to buy although expensive is VCDS, you buy the cable and get the sofware for free, it's fully supported by ross-tech.

The cheap ones on ebay are very unreliable so i'd either get the above or ask around for someone who has it already and can help out for a few beer tokens.
