« on: 16 March 2013, 14:06 »
Hi All,

Replacing the Led as it has stopped working and also I want to wire this to the passenger side, bought an led off ebay, flashing one that is brighter, same size.  But took the flashing led and surround out and you cant seem to remove the LED? Do I have to buy a serperate surround that is blank? if so where can I get this all the ebay links are old?

When i changed mine to a blue led i had to drill the old one out using a dremel.
Take your time and do it slowly and its possible

To run a led to the passenger side you have to connect a wire from the driver side led and run it through the door and under the dash then to the passenger door

Also have you checked the led is faulty as it could be something else?

Def faulty as Ive checked with another loom and it works,  The Red LED is glued into the holder.  Does anywhere sell blank alarm caps?  Cant seem to find any

I could drill it out however with a small drill piece?  Looks like it will be a nightmare to do though  :embarrassed:

Appreciate the help!

Cant say iv seen blank alarm caps for sale.
I know there's a guy on eBay who sells them with a blue or brighter red led.

Also you could try heating up the cap with a hairdryer whilst pulling on the led wires , so as the glue heats up, try to pull it out.

Worth a shot atleast
