Strange noise from the vr6 engine bay

Hey guys,

Every time I turn off the vr6 I can hear this noise coming from the engine bay, sounds like an electric motor to me, anyway open the bonnet the other day, it appears to be something connected to one of the heating pipes heading toward the firewall, it's located just behind the coil pack...

Does anyone have any ideas? Or heard of this problem before...

As Ben siad sounds like it it the aux water pump, which is standard on all VR's

The Vr engine gets HOT, the aux pump helps the engine cool down more evenly. Because it gets so hot, the block and head cool down in an irregular fashion, this can cause serious warpage which, as you know, aint good on an engine lol.

I always have an eye on the temp gauge... And if I'm hammering it she runs at about 100' but normal pottering about, 94'

Are you talking about coolant temp or oil temp?
