Mk3 golf 1.8 20vt conversion anyone?
« on: 11 March 2013, 15:23 »
Has anyone on here done the 1.8 turbo conversion in a mk3? Any help would be great about any part of the conversion as I'm about to buy most of the parts needed (e.g driveshafts, mounts, etc). Also I'm undecided on the brake setup which to use. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

I've tried that but I can't find any information on which brake setup would be best

Late spec GTI/VR6 brakes (288mm discs) will be fine up to the 250bhp mark, I would upgrade to mk4 312mm brakes if yr pushing for more power than that

the standard 288's are fine with decent pads

or the 312mm off some golf mk4 turbos and S3's etc - this is what i use with 350 - 400 bhp set up
