The rear beam, bolts up next to your shocks.
Fitting kits come with them.

The main things that have made a difference to the handling of my Golf is fitting the TT arms and a rear ARB

I fitted a Whiteline RARB to my standard suspension'd TDI and the difference was noticeable. IMO its one of the best value for money mods you can do
