There will be a gain on the 8v that I'm sure of, just not as much gain as on a 16v or VR6. The only thing that would put me off chipping my 8v is the fact I'd have to buy the chip then pay someone to solder it on, which is added cost.

On my 16v it's given me 9hp, dyno proven.

Agreed, i just don't think its cost effective on an 8v.. better just to give it a damn good service.

Yes. Joe has changed his ebay username for some reason.

If you contact him before buying it you can ask him for specific maps like a higher rev limit or more fuel at X RPM, etc. The standard map he writes is very similar to the OEM map, he plays around mainly with ignition timing.

Fainter line is original chip, darker line is his performance chip.

Like my first posts says, my 8v definitely has improved torque now and I wouldnt have a clue about BHP gains but if you can find a pc tecy to do if a similar price to mine, its the best £60 iv spent on the car and it puts a little smile on my face when I put my foot down. :-)

Can he map the 16v ABF chip so it gives more grunt at lower revs? i don't feel the benefit of the 16v unless i'm giving it some which is practically never?
