It was a local guy, here his website www.itrustrepair.co.uk (or something like that, if its not right just google "itrustrepair Chorley Tim" tim's his name) he specializes in laptop and PC repair. He is based in Chorley in Lancashire. You might be able to post it to him and he'll send it back for a cost. As for price he only charged me £20 for unsoldering the old chip and fitting the new one. Hope this helps.

Thanks ! I never thought about asking a pc geek !

come on get that chip in! :)

Hopefully will be doing this soon too :).
Took my ECU apart the other day and found a metal cover so thought my ECU just couldn't be chipped. Just as i was about to post on this topic asking about it i read that you can pop the metal covers off (DOH!) so gonna take it back out later and have a look to see if its socketed or soldered, then i will go from there :)

Only the back cover popped off my ECU the front was soldered on. the guy who fitted mine removed it altogether when fitting the chip, but prior to that I very and I mean very carefully removed the top off chrome box with a angle grinder to see if mine was a push fit or a solder-in.

Simple as that?
