I heard someone say that drivers could start to learn at 16, but had to have a provisional licence for 12 months before taking their test.

I know quite a few lads my age that passed their tests either on or days after their 17th birthday. In fact, I was 17 and 2 months, but that was only because I couldn't get an earlier date.

Dubber you any links to that as my 2 kids are 16 coming up for 17 and they are desperate to get out.
Take it the 12months for provisional would only apply if you got it aged 16 otherwise most folk would have to wait till they were 18 to sit their test!
