Thanks, I cleaned them with a bit of carb cleaner, but it's free I will clean them again lol, I'm sure it's just an adjust issue. I'll report back ;)

idle screw just needs turning any way to make idle where you want it. mixing screw tighten it all the way (slowly so you don't over tighten it) then back out 1 and a half times. but i wouldn't mess with the mixing screw to much.

a 1.3 carb will not be the same a 1.8 gti digi  :lipsrsealed:

please be careful when giving advice that might be mis-leading.

woah sorry I misread it as an injection model.

If its a carb model check all jets for contaminates and check float height also check needle valve for correct seating.

don't touch the mixture screw without a gas analyser. its not worth the hassle.

Adjust idle to achieve 800 +/- 50

(I think that's the right idle but I stand to be corrected. either way its not a bad base level to start from.
