You can get anti tamper torx from loads of places mate, I bought a cheap bit set from amazon that came with loads of weird and wonderful anti tamper bits, and yeah the maf is next to the air filter. Before you fork out for a new maf, try giving it a clean with some maf cleaner spray. If that doesn't work buy a genuine vw one. They ain't cheap but it'll work for a lot longer than an aftermarket one.
The air filter you put in, is it an oil based one (does it feel oily)? As these are a big no no for our cars, the oil from the filter gunks up the maf.

hi all who helped me on this subject .

thought it would be a good idear to give the forum an update .

after thinking about the price the garage wanted to do some work ie the cam sensor i decided to get my hands dirty and take the throttle body out and maff sensor and clean up with carb cleaner , all good for a thew hundred miles but light back on  so went to vw parts dept and had a chat bout the cam sensor , he told me that in the last 5 years hes only sold half a dozen so in formed me they don't go wrong really and to check cam belt lol , funy realy be-cos i decided to replace the cam belt and did at home with a mate of mine only to find the tentioner really slack and belt, and to find the belt a tooth out , maybe it slipped maybe some f**king idiot put on wrong , all i no is the lights have stayed off at last .

could this give a trottle body code ?????

Might of been mate the 1.8t is known for throwing codes that relate to other things lol keep an eye out on the car but looks like you sorted it gratz mate :)
