Was it Kwik-Fit who had the biggest tool- who ended up killing a lad on a 'test' drive?

This was also done with an Evo, in car footage is very interesting when they go past a school. The car was also taken out AFTER they realised there was a problem with the engine which in turn completely destroyed it

I once picked up a local mechanic whom I know through work (motor factors). He was a bit shaken, and I couldnt understand why he was stood at the roadside with no car in sight.

He works for a Fiat dealership and was test driving a Punto after changing the brakes.

He couldnt stop at a roundabout and flew straight over it and into a ditch. You couldnt see the car from the road!

TBF the dealership sorted the customer out with another car at their cost. The mechanic is still working for them.

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Few years ago I owned a rover 620turbo that apart from a 40mm drop and 17"vittese rims was a bit of a sleeper, I had fitted a front mount cooler a t2& turbo off a sunny gtir CAI ect and was running best part of around 240-50 bhp and had run regular 1/4s at pod in the mid 14s.

Anyway I took it to have new tyres fitted at f1 centre and trotted off to B&Q on the industrial estate while they did it. A hour later I came back and no car guy said he's just took it out for a road test hour later manager getting worried and phones guy, and then vanishes into into office to continue chat. Comes out and says he's stuck in traffic there's been a accident 10 mins away.

30mins pass guy comes back and says car needs tracking its pulling to the left and one of your wheels is buckled. Bollox I say as car has been spot on for months and wheels where perfect, after lots of arguing turns out he had underestimated the car booted it off the island car hit boost span front wheels up and he twited kerb knocking tracking out and killing rim, there head office claimed it was my fault for not informing  them car was modified

What was the outcome of this? and I have never heared of anyone taking a car for a test drive after fitting tyres......
