What action do you/would you take if......
« on: 07 March 2013, 11:38 »
Hey guys, this hasn't happened to me BUT recently my friend's dad found out that a garage that he put his supra twin turbo into for some work had taken his supra out "racing" and used it for there personal use.

Hearing storys like this do make you wonder... My car is going into a garage for some body work/spray work in may and im alittle worried they may use my car when they shouldn't (not the same garage) so beside taking a picture of your mileage before you drop it off what action would you/can you take if this was to ever happen?

I saw a thread on Piston Heads last year where a similar thing happened and the bloke lost his job and I think got done for theft or something along those lines. He also got done for speeding too!!

ide just note the milage down/take a picture with the time stamp on a camera.

if it comes back with anything more than 10 miles or so on ide start questioning it, as said though, sometimes they need to drive it to see if the problems fixed.

someone i used to work with had his lasses car in a garage, rang up a few days later and they were saying they had to order parts in and would be a few more days, when he got it back he was noticing it was crabbing across the road a little, then noticed some of the panels werent matching up properly and were slightly different colour, went back and asked about it, after a while he found out that one of the lads had taken it out and crashed it, then tried to repair it by replacing panels ect. but he missed the bent chassis making it slightly drift accross the road! car was a wright off and the garage owner said he would not pay out however would fire who ever it was who crashed it and they would have to pay him back, noone would grass him up so noone got the sack and he didnt get any money.  think he was on about taking them to small claims court but havent seen him for a while so dont know whats happend with it.... safe to say that garage lost a customer :D

the body shop can use dolly's so dont give them the keys.

me and a mate dropped his car off at a local spanner monkeys. got overtaken by it on way back from garage

went back to garage to await spanner monkey. garage said he was on a test drive making sure it was fixed alright. mumbled something when we pointed out it was dropped off less than 10 mins previously.

Work was f.o.c and i guess they sacked the little scrote - never went back
