boot strap on mk2

 :huh:hi all! trying to get my oak green 8v back to std spec. noticed in the boot on the pass side, two screw holes. went down to local breakers and found an '86 cl 5 door. i removed a metal bracket with a rubber strap attached. i realise this is like a tidy strap, but was it originally for something in particular? just wondering-that's all!
