TIP (Turbo inlet pipe)
« on: 04 March 2013, 22:04 »
Hey guys I did a search but nothing came up.
I have ordered a TIP for my AUM and as I have never fitted one of these I was wondering are these easy to fit or is there anything I need to know?

Piece of cake. Maybe a touch fiddily, you'll do fine. Unless you struggle with a knife and fork - Not that those are the tools required!

I found it quite a struggle to get the new one on as there is a metal coolant pipe in the way. If you haven't done one yet give yourself an hour or so!

Hello peeps, just fitted mine 2 days ago.creation motorsport tip.on the turbo you need a 5mm hex to undo the bolt, she slips right off.The problem is the coolant line. This can be undone for more access.Follow it all the way back to the block, there is an 8mm hex bolt so you can move it a tad.I didnt bother in the end.i cut the tip down an inch.I cant possibly see how you can get the tip on without cutting slightly or undoing the coolant line.Is it normal btw it sounds like i get a slight flutter now when i lift off throttle????plz  best of luck mate ,well worth doing!!!

It is fiddly as the others have said to get the TIP onto the turbo end, you also need a very slim jubilee, because the recess the jubilee sits in there is poor access for a socket or a screwdriver to tighten the jubilee.

I tried about 5 times to get the TIP on the turbo end and it wouldnt have it then on the 6th go just slotted on, and I though 'no f*cking way did it just go on' it seemed too easy compared to the previous 5 attempts

a tip  (no pun intended) that i read is if you have rthe equipment, hoist the car up and put the tip in from under the car. not sure how true this it.
