VdubNinja, did yours happen when sat in traffic aswell or all the time.Mine only cuts out when engine is hot and stationary its ok when driving.

Happened whenever. Started off stationary I believe, then when I was moving.. Then completely went. Mate it's a 5 quid fix. Worth checking anyway for a fiver. It does sound to me like its a strong possibility though buddy.

No worries pal.

Battery tray out, check earth is not burnt, maybe even temporarily re earth as a test and see how you go.

My checklist for that issue would be...

Fuel/ecu relay
Coil pack
Spark plugs
Dizzy
Crank sensor
Ecu earth

New coil pack has only been on about 18 months.New ECU and fuel pump relay about 3 months old, spark plugs 12 months old,new dizzy cap and new crank sensor fitted about 3 months ago too.So looks like ECU earth maybe the answer.

Coil pack only last me 15 - 18 months lol. Maybe you've cooked it. But you saying that you left it for 20 mins and came back to start it. That's the problem I had with mine. And it was crankshaft sensor. So I dunno maybe yours has packed in, but it shouldn't have.

I've cleaned earths too, but that just helped my lights. Nothing else tbh

Cleaning ecu earth would not really fix the issue.

What happens is water gets under the battery tray and fries the wire from the inside. Best way to tell is to strip it back. If its black, it's burnt. Strip it back until its not black. Mine was burnt right up to the ecu.

How does the ECU temp sensor work?, does it sense the temp and signal the ECU that's it too Hot or sumat?

If it does maybe cox you were in traffic, and temp went up, it may have cut engine off.
