Were there ever fake Hellas on the market?
« on: 01 March 2013, 18:37 »
Reason I ask is because my headlights are stamped Hella on the glass and made in Germany, but plastic housing that mount the bulbs are broken on both headlights and gingle around, also both footlights glasses just fell off in the street.not too long ago :undecided:

sounds more like someone has being messing with them... they are easy to split and should be easy to re-assemble but some lights I have seen

(I guess there are some iffy copies around.....I haven't seen any yet but as with all big makes, the chance of making money with sub-standard copies is too easy!)

TYC made copies which you can still buy new. They are identical in every way apart from the knobs on the adjusters. All parts are 100% interchangable with Hellas but the plastics are more brittle and the reflectors rust easily.
