Fixing a catalyst?

Trying keep this on the cheap!

I have a 1.8t AGU - it has a de-cat on and MOT time is getting close. So planning on putting the original cat back on. However my catalyst that I took of is damaged at the flexi pipe.

I don't really want fork out for a new one as will only be on for the MOT, so want know if you can repair it or even weld a new one in place?

Flexi pipes are quite hard to weld up as the metal is thin. Where abouts are you?

You can buy the flexi on its own for about £4,
Had to replace the one on my mates ebay exhaust.
I got the welder at work to replace the flexi.

Speak to the MOT place, if they won't pass it with a de cat, move to the next MOT place  :whistle:

Yea seen those flexi pipes on eBay, thought might be a pain do! But cheap option! Am up in Sandbach in Cheshire. What you thinking??
