i have looked but cant find the advice im after.

i have had a look but cant find the info im after, would be greatfull if someone could tell me or point me at a post where i could find out. what is the difference between bosch mas and hitachi mas? how can i tell which one i have on my mk3 96 gti 8v.

96 GTI more then likely Bosch, will have a part number and more than likely say Bosch on it too  :whistle:

Don't worry pal, owning a mk3 is very much a learning curve and you are lucky I replied first and not one of the really sarcastic bar stewards on here ha ha

does it make a differnce to an induction kit as to which one i got? i know that a lot of people dont like them on here

An induction kit bolts up to the maf so no worries there, a decent, branded panel filter will be much better than an induction kit tho mate, but if you want one then go ahead  :wink:

96 will be siemens... bosch is upto early 95!

or to be sure check your engine code as 2e is bosch and ady/agg is siemens

I will thats the air temp sensor, alot of inductions kits don't allow for these to be fitted and many people just tie wrap them somewhere (so the readings it gets become pointless!)

b.t.w I've got a pipercross indy kit for a 96 siemens model on ebay at the mo  :smiley:
