oil light flashing!!!

urgent help needed.

my oil light keeps commin on despite my dipstick reading that i have oil in there.

Only a month ago i had a full service, new oil and filter and its only been since then its come on.

What can it be? help!!!

My m8 had this on his Seat Ibiza GTI 2.0 8v (N Reg think its a MKIII?) Same engine as the MKIIs and its build on a Polo Chasis, so its 95% the same.

  Anyway... Stupid twit kept putting oil in because he thought it was low on oil. Now its in the Garage having new seals and getting a new filter. What we was told is that on these cars including the golfs is that the filter or baffel cant remeber the name. You can see it when the sum is off, this often can get blocked. MOst the time he says Garage just poke the sh!te through with a screwdriver but its easy to replace. When this blocks, oil getting round the engine is slow so it heats up

  Check your temp on the MFA mate when the light comes on next, if its reading 110+ This should be the problem a blocked filter/baffel in the sump!

temperature gague reads normal but drove the 2 miles to work today and it sounded like a buss!

Im so worried coz it was fine til i had the oil change and new filter and now its not!

I just want my smooth runnin dub back! Earliest my bloke at the garrage can get me in is monday afternoon and to be honnest im not sure if it'l get me there

flashy oil light=low oil pressure, so either a duff filter, or for some reason your pickup pipe in the sump is blocked, dont use it till you get it sorted cause youll f@ck it big style, seems strange how its started since oil change, so i doubt its your oil pump but the 2 miles you drove will have given the oil pump a hard time now!!! bad how such a simple job can start a nightmare!!!, i would also have said to check oil pressure switch on filter housing, but the 'sounds like a bus bit' makes me think that its working ok and flashing as it should as you haveny got any oil goin round your engine!!!

i hope the garage is a good one and stump up for something it sounds like theyve caused!!

problem is its a good few miles away mate. Is there anything i can check myself?

will need very clear descriptions as im no genius when it comes to engines, in fact, im sh!t!
