a stage 2 GTI/Rocco is completely different in terms of power delivery to a Stage 1 Ed30/Pirelli, whilst i loved my the Rocco in Stage 2 tune given it was more linear through the range compared to when it was Stage 1 it never matched the fun factor of the Pirelli hitting peak power higher up the range which for me made it more enjoyable to drive despite in some ways it no being as flexible given coming on boost later

this decision was confirmed when i drove an APR mapped rocco and actually preferred the my standard Ed35

Ed35 edges the Pirelli for me all day long (both ran the same tune for a while) except for the climate control which is way to fussy (unlike mk5 and later mk6 one)

Interesting read and comparison, sounds like the K04 conversion planned for next year should give best of both worlds

I've got Revo's Scirocco tomorrow which may now have a K04 on it but may still be Stage 2

I can't even think about anymore power until I have got brakes and chassis sorted, but knowing what power you are used to from your own cars that's got to be pretty special for that reaction
