Rear panel
« on: 28 July 2005, 13:13 »
Just been given an 8v for free because its rear panel has rotted away. Its the only rust on the whole vehicle and is due to the fact it was replaced 3 years ago with a cheap pattern part no underseal and cheap paint. So has anyone replaced the rear panel before? Is it best left to a bodyshop? I can weld quite well but have never welded a panel this size? any suggestions?

i'd ask around a few body shops, you may be surprised how cheap they'll do it or it may be stupidly expensive! even if you can weld i think on something like that you'll have to be pretty spot on and it'd be a waste of time and money to then get a body shop to rectify it.
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post
