The tail is the only difference. Just a subtle styling change by VW meant there were only a few of these with a swallow tail. I wouldnt pay anymore for one to be honest but then there are the real purists that prob would!!!

No, there are hundreds of differences between the early Golfs such as the swallowtails and the later models!!
