Possible MOT failure - Nearside Wing Mirror
« on: 21 February 2013, 13:57 »
My mot is due tomorrow and would like to know if my nearside passenger side wing mirror would fail the mot. I can see out of the wing mirror easily, doesn't really affect my driving. I've been told as long as the driver's wing mirror and interior rear view mirror are fine then the nearside one doesn't matter?

thank you

To my knowledge it will prob fail due to it being cracked, Try getting a stick on mirror for time being, but your housing is broken aswell. Can't say tbh

for MOT you need drivers mirror and one other, this can be the interior mirror. Tape that one up so you have no sharp edges and you'll probably just get an advisory

Deemed as sharp edges due to incomplete assembly

Fail

thats what i was told last year when some ignorant sod clipped my wing mirror on the near side and the MOT bloke said it must be replaced otherwise its a fail so he must of been referring to the edging etc

As far as I'm aware brakes are only tested on efficiency, but I may be wrong...
