mk2 golf abf clocks
« on: 20 February 2013, 16:10 »
Hey guys and girls
As some of u may know ive been converting my 1986 mk2 golf into an abf. Ive got most stuff covered now but the missing peice of the puzzle is what clocks ill need. As mine are 1.3 clocks and have no rev counter. So I think I need early gti clocks? How will I make the speedo and rev counter work? Im useing the abf gearbox and it has an electric plug near the diff. Will this need changeing if so what for?
Pluss what happens when my car goes from haveing 75 thousand on it to what ever the new clocks will say?
Cheers peeps

You need GTI clocks with the same plugs as yours.

Speedo plugs in using 020 drive cable IIRC

Re-counter - odds on there'll be the wire from the coil to the binnacle that powers the tacho.  You'll need to wire that in to the ABF coil.

Undo the electronic fitting and you'll find the mechanical drive speedo cable screws in to replace it.

No one will give a f*ck.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
