Coilovers or Lowered Springs - Please add your pics
« on: 18 February 2013, 22:32 »
Got a cool small bumper Gti.
Like it loads but it has monster truck height suspension.

So I am gonna lower between 40-80mm (not yet decided)

Please could you post pics of your lowered golf and let me know the setup
i.e. coilovers lowered 80mm, or ebach spings lowered 60mm...........195/45/14 tyres etc......

I could do with some pics so I can compare.
Also your opinion on ride quality as I will be using our Gti as a daily.

Many thanks in advance.........

all depends on the budget

cheap coilies = a harsh ride and not lasting long in some cases.

as its ya daily, a shock n spring combo - better ride quailty - do a search its been covered a LOT

ok thanks.

I just wanted a thread where I could see a list of lowered vehicles as a comparison, and know what setup they had.
And more importantly whether they regretted it.

I will research the pros and cons elsewhere......

I hate coilover ride quality but the adjustable height makes them worth it. Cheap ones and expensive ones. They all crash bang over bumps when you drop them real low.

Pros for coilies is the heigh adjustment.

Pros for shocks and springs - the ride quality.
Cons for shocks and springs - Fixed height and the back end might sit lower than the front. Real annoying.
