MkV gti power surge
« on: 17 February 2013, 21:38 »
Can anyone help me please? I've take. My golf into the garage as I have an orange engine warning light on. My car keeps revving especially in traffic and it also feels as I I'm being pulled along when I'm trying to park or just go slowly with the flow of traffic. Despite having a service and the computer plugged in the garage can't find the fault. My daughter seems to think it could be the oil air flow sensor? Would be grateful for advice I'm not able to fix this myself:-(

I believe you are referring to MAF - Mass Airflow Sensor.

If you disconnect this - does the idle remain rough?

It could be many things:

Boost leak/Plugs/Coil Packs/Crankcase ventilation/Fuel pumps/Fuel Filter and so on.

Have you had it a main dealer?
