could anyone send me in the right direction to get a wiring diagram for behind the dash of a 8v gti mk2 because mine is awful and dont know where some of the wires go

Look rubjonnys fusebox FAQ in the maintenance section. Its invaluable, lists all wires from the fusebox plugs, their colours, and what they do.
